Real-Time and End-Point PCR in the BAX® System
Hygiena’s BAX Systems use PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technology to detect unwanted bacteria in raw ingredients, finished food products and environmental samples.
The BAX® System Q7 supports food safety needs through simplified testing methods, specific and sensitive assays and real-time PCR quantification. Offers fast results, flexibility and throughput for pathogen detection programs.
The PCR tablets used in the BAX® System real-time assays contain multiple target-specific dye-labeled probes designed for fluorescent detection. These probes consist of short DNA sequences with a quencher dye at one end that reduces signal emitted by the fluorescent dye at the opposite end. Probes bind to a specific area within the targeted DNA fragment.
